Remtech has been using Securilath HD1 3mm mesh for 2 years as part of the high security options of our ModuSec System.
ModuSec is an F90 fire rated modular construction system, primarily used for the protection of IT environments. It provides a quick, clean and cost effective construction to any size - inside an existing building or outside with a weatherproof roof – providing required levels of protection for IT hardware and media (achieving EN1047-2 recommended limit temperatures for computer room construction for 83 minutes). The system also provides a very high level of water, smoke and dust protection. In addition, a very low U value effectively eliminates solar gain – cutting energy requirements and providing a stable environment for cooling systems.
The system uses lightweight, high strength, steel faced wall and ceiling panels with a ‘Pyrofoam’ core that provides a high performance thermal barrier. Panels simply lock together to form a protective enclosure. The pre-finished panels require no decoration or maintenance. The system is independent of the existing structure and can be easily extended or relocated at any time.
Remtech has developed the panel system further to meet high security standards for protecting Government assets. For this high standard (computer/electronic equipment) we use 2 sheets of cross-laid 3mm thick Expanded mesh foamed into the panels and fixed to the camlocks that are set in the ‘tongue and groove’ panel edges. Expamet cut sheets to size for us so that they can easily be inserted into the panels during the production process. This produces a composite panel that is very difficult to cut for any would be intruders. The cross diamond pattern simply breaks blades and drill bits and the slab construction provides huge resistance to sledgehammer attack. The fact that the steel mesh ties the camlocks that fix adjacent panels together means that the system also provides a high level of blast protection. We add an additional layer of material that further frustrates the use of powered cutting tools. The system has been fully Government tested and approved.
The fact that the Expanded Metal brand is known and trusted has helped Remtech make a huge success of selling the product. Our largest market is the defence sector and Government departments.
