Secured by Design
Expamet Security Products was the first fencing manufacturer in the UK to be awarded “Secured by Design” the UK’s police flagship initiative supporting the principles of designing out crime. “Secured by Design” identifies technical standards and evaluations, which test the competence of security products and their resistance to criminal attack. The fencing systems available in 4095 & 2089 mesh types join our ‘Super Security’ system which gained Secured by Design status in 2002 and also exceeded the requirements of “Class 4” status, the highest category for security fencing set by Government agencies. The Super Security product was the first to achieve ‘Police Preferred Specification’.

Following a revision of the Super Security 5401 fencing system, our 7732 mesh fencing was involved in a series of tests by Government testing bodies where a series of evaluations were carried out to test the strength, anti climb properties and hosting properties of electronic security equipment. The Expamet product performed well in all categories and exceeded the requirements of 'Class 4' status, the highest category for security fencing set by government agencies', provided it is fitted with a suitable topping.
7732 is also accepted as a SEAP Class 3 Product.

During 2004 Expamet Security Products CPD Seminar ‘Security fencing standards and applications for Expanded Metal Fencing was given approval by RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects). The seminar has a number of learning/key objectives including why we need security fencing, fencing options available: features & benefits, standards they conform too, applications of Expanded metal systems and a look at entry systems, Toppings and add-on products
