Ever since we first launched our architectural mesh range, our products have been in high demand.
Expanded metal is prized by architects for its flexibility, versatility and ability to enhance lighting effects and complement surrounding environments.
It provides a controllable contour for surfaces and offers functionality as well as a means of creating stunning visual effects.
You can see The Expanded Metal Company’s mesh products on building facades, architectural screens, interior features and rooftops across the globe.
Here’s a taste of just some of the ways our meshes have been used by architects, building contractors, designers and cladding specialists…
Grange University Hospital, Cwmbran, Wales, UK
Our Athens aluminium building cladding mesh was selected to be incorporated into the Vantage® EMSA system used at Grange University Hospital, in Cwmbran, Wales.
The Vantage® EMSA expanded mesh system, which screens four chimneys at the site, was developed by BTS Facades and Fabrications, and was chosen for the project due to its aesthetic appeal and shrouding capability.
Our Bilbao architectural mesh, was used to clad the New Battle of Grunwald Museum in Olsztynek, Poland, which was built to commemorate one of the largest battles in medieval Europe.
We supplied a bespoke anodised gold-coloured architectural mesh for the exterior of Westfield Stratford City’s multi-storey car park and the adjacent Stratford City Bus Station.
Working in partnership with façade specialist James & Taylor, we manufactured expanded metal mesh cladding for the New Museum in New York – Manhattan’s contemporary art museum.
A new aluminium mesh, New York, was developed for the project and the New Museum was named one of the architectural New Seven Wonders of the World in 2008.
We supplied expanded metal for the redeveloped exterior of the The Young Vic Theatre, which provides protection to the building as well as delivering an unusual façade.
The project went on to win the prestigious RIBA London Building of the Year Award.
Nando’s, Dolphin Square, Weston-super-Mare, England, UK
Our mesh was finished with Nando’s brand colours and has been used to create screens and ceiling features which are enhanced by the lighting effects used within the branch.
