Expanded metal for shopfitting

The versatility and robust nature of expanded metal mesh makes it an ideal material for use for the interior fit-out of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes.

It can be used with lighting to create stunning effects, enhance the feeling of light and space in an internal environment and be employed in drawing customers’ attention to products and features.

Expanded metal is a popular material with interior designers and architects for its aesthetic qualities – and it also has many practical uses too, from acting as a key for the application of plaster or render, to boosting security, and used in the forming of staircases and gantries.

We offer a wide range of expanded metal mesh products for shopfitting including raised aluminium mesh, flattened steel mesh and stainless steel mesh for plaster rendering, raised aluminium and steel mesh for balustrades, Securilath™ (sometimes referred to as Expamet) for additional security, and a variety of raised steel and aluminium meshes for staircases, walkways, gantries and ramps.

You can view our range of products used in internal fit-out here.

We also provide finishing solutions such as a galvanising, polyester powder coating and anodising, for both decorative and protective purposes.

Internal architectural features

Expanded metal mesh can be manufactured in a range of patterns and therefore can be used to create stunning interior wall cladding, panels and screens, – for instance to provide the backdrop to a till or bar area, or to highlight or section off a particular area of a premises. Lighting effects, colours and natural light can all be used to enhance the mesh’s effect even further. View the products available here.

Displays

Expanded metal mesh is used in retail shop fittings, displays and point of sale features to present products in an eye-catching way and create space for them to attract attention. Expanded metal’s flexibility is also a key asset. View the product range here.

Balustrades

Strong and robust, expanded metal is popular material for the creation of balustrades – and its aesthetic qualities can turn a staircase into a striking architectural feature. You can view products available here.

Staircases, walkways and gantries

Building on the strength of expanded metal as a platform, our walkway meshes provide superb grip underfoot and offer a highly effective solution for walkway gantries, trailer ramps and stair treads. They’re rigorously tested and combine practicality with aesthetic appeal. View products here.

Ceiling tiles

The use and benefits of Expanded metal don’t just stop at eye level. Raised stainless steel, raised steel and raised aluminium meshes can all be used to create ceiling tiles. View the range here.

Securilath™

Adding additional security to a building, for instance where valuable stock or cash is held, Securilath™ can be installed at the time of construction into internal or external walls, ceilings and roofs, or can be retrofit whilst refurbishment is carried out. Securilath™ is easily fixed to brickwork, blockwork, stud partitioning, ceiling joists and roofs in metal or timber. Find out more about Securilathhere.
